Whose your favorite elf? Do you identify with them and why?

Mine is Teir, i read his story while going through something similiar to him and felt immediate emotional bond.

i know it sounds corny, but Skywise.for some reason it seemed that everything he did would be something i would have done. or maybe pike 'cause he was always sloshed.

Skywise corny? Skywise is one of the coolest elves ever! Always checking out the stars, recalling his galactic heritage and rejoining it, not to mention being loved by many of the girl elves.

I would have to say that Strongbow was always my favorite. The strong, silent type, the traditionalist, always willing to questions Cutter when the need arose.

And to answer the whole question.. I identified with him for sure. I don't like to waste energy on "small talk". I am all about questioning people if something needs to be questioned, regardless of who they are. But mostly I just liked that he wasn't a blabbermouth. :)

Teir? was that later on in the series, I don't remember that name. Skywise will always be monumental...just too beautiful and cool, definate connection and I'm not just regurgitating here but second fav. is strongbow, same reasons listed before. I feel moved to add another so we'll go for dewshine? she's just the quinisencial pixie! oh and redlance/mark...gotta love him!

well I guess my walk will further express which elf I like...

in college I got to take the *honors* version of an astronomy class, the next year a P.hd. buddy in the physic dept. asked If I had taken that course - when i said yes he said go see "Dr. so-n-so they are lookin for help"
I said, "no way, your kidding?"
well after 4 years of Undergrad T.A.'ing and retooling a few lab's for one of the other beginner astro labs and was thee only goto guy for the ADA students - I had a heartfelt change of heart and after graduating with the tech theatre degree I was going into astro-physics.

I also had a pseudo-bond to the character of suntop and a healthy respect for Clearbrooke and her "furchin'd" co-elder of the wolfriders.

      That pretty clear for ya?

Firstly Skywise, because he's damn sexy. And since I picked the books up at age 12, he was often the object of my adolescent affections. *sigh*

Kahvi is my favorite female character.....Original quest Kahvi, though (she changed later, and I never really knew what to think). I admired her for being such a strong woman.....and I was a very quiet shy pushover child. I think her bitchiness eventually taught me to be more of an indy woman myself!

-chief's best friend (share's a unique soul bond!)
    -stargazer
-popular with all elf maidens from all tribes
-doesnt recognize (playfully free and unattached)
-gets made immortal and flies around the galaxy in a crystal lightship
-possible recognition with Timmain! a full on high one!
    -silver hair

I have to go with Strongbow also. His intestinal fortitude and sense of duty always appealed to me. But how can everyone forget about Cutter? I mean, sure he's the main character 'n all, but his fierce loyalty, his vision, his willing to break from the Way, to sacrifice for the greater good - and it feels like we got to see him grow up more than any other character. He was a pup when he left the holt, and a full fledged man when he left the palace.

Well...I feel silly answering this question...HAHAHAHA!!

So without stating the obvious...I suppose I'll explain why.

I felt instant kinship to Skywise with his incessant questioning of the meaning behind everything. He felt pulled to the cosmic sense of power and history in the stars. He loves life and is always there for his brother-in-all-but-blood. I've been DJing under the name of Skywise for over 3 years now. And to this day it still holds a lot of meaning for me.

    Well, I dunno...

Though she only appears briefly and intermittantly, Joyleaf is one of my favorites. I admire her qualities--she has patience to balance her mate's impulsiveness, she's wise, a strong chieftess, and she helped raise an intelligent, creative and well-balanced son. That's pretty impressive.

My other favorite is Ember. She reminds me a lot of myself. But then again, so does Joyleaf. :) I do identify alot with both of them.

Indeed it is. She also tempered Bearclaw, who is probably my second favorite. I really wish there was more written about him - he was the epitome of the Way, and the most aged wolfrider there was. Its so funny to see what an impact he had on Strongbow.

If you like Joyleaf, read the new DC 'Wolfrider' #1 - its all about bearclaw, and thus joyleaf.

Redlance. Even from waaaaay back when I first started reading EQ in the digest/magazine sized original twenty (tho, admittedly, I came in late with no. 16 and had lots of wondermous back reading to do ;) ) I just clicked with him like no other character. I think - in part, lest this become some sort of damned thesis - because of both the manner in which he interacted with the cubs, particularly the go back children in subsequent issues, and the dynamic of his relationship with Nightfall. It just rang true to me in a way that seldom happens either IRL or in fiction.
(oh, and Winnowill later and to a lesser extent, but that's a longer story ;) )

I like Kahvi. Her outfit, her attitude. But maybe I'd actually like to be a healer and Mom like Leetah, with Kahvi's wardrobe, hee hee!
As for the guys, gotta be Cutter. Especially in his blue velvet outfit in Blue Mtn. Grrrr...
Wouldn't mind sharing some action with Skywise too tho. ;)

I had a crush on Cutter in my teens and actually Rayek too although he was not the most pleasant being, maybe I found his badness attractive. The elder elves, I forget what they were called but they were beautiful and wise and I had dreams of meeting one.

I'd have to say my favorite is now ember. she's got the same kind of boneheaded determination i've always had and that insecurity about her decisions when she finally got the responsibility she always wanted. of course, that's what i'm going through right now being on my own in college, but meh. i feel like i have the same sort of fire burning inside.

Rahnee She-Wolf, Huntress Skyfire, from reading "blood of ten chiefs", tied for first.

Skywise, of course *winks* which means I love Wendy...since that's who she "is", so to speak.

Pike's Tha Man...dreamberries, baby, oh yeah.

Clearbrook...her strength/love/devotion. I like that she and treestump became so close, after her loss of one-eye.

i thought skywise was richard's pet... i remember reading a story about how wendy was going to kill off skywise, but richard had to intervene on his behalf, because skywise was so much richard's elf.

a long long long (and did i mention long?) time ago, i read in either the Compendium or some sort of article, that Richard was Cutter and Wendy saw herself as Skywise. It was a sort of response to people asking her how she felt about being Leetah....

        but this was awhile ago.

i do recall the "killing off Skywise" bit, but not exactly that way. T'was to create more dynamics with Cutter, show his devotion to his longtime friend, and to make the great battle much more horrific.

dunno. :D maybe i really am still delirious with fever (i've been sick) and am remembering things assbackwards. *winks*

            cutter and suntoucher.

cutter because, well, he's cutter. i'd like to be cutter. he's got style, he's got substance, he's got heart and soul. he's got leetah. 'nough said.

suntoucher. sadly (or not so sadly) i think i have more in common with leetah's dad than her boyfriend. that's not so bad, he's a pretty decent sort. funny thing is that i used to stare at the sun as a child, watching the sun change from yellow to white to red to blue. until someone told me why it was a bad idea, and i stopped. hmm, shame no one told suntoucher. ah well, i've learned how to have almost the same experience through yoga.

            ;)

Tier -- Just because he is soooo mysterious, and HOT! (Girls love Mystery.) I identify more with Ember. She's young and coming into her own and in recent stories she is soooo strong and a true leader- I think it took the challange from Scouter to really give her a backbone. She had to face something she never thought she would. It proved that being born to a chief's family doesn't mean you'll be a great chief yourself.

As far as 'sleeping with' the elves.... I'd be like Skywise-a total slut-puppy.... ;-) There are just too many hot elves to choose between. But I would like recognise--- that would be an amazing experience in itself.

Leetah, 'cause she's a Healer and an Iniatress and so am I : )!
Cutter; as many said...becuse of his gear heart and soul and...Yes. because he's cutter!
and Sky-wise, star-gazer-dreamer-remember-er, Loyal Friend and Sky-eyed "easy" Elf! I'd "tumble" through fields or throuh stars w/ him any day or night! ; )

              sometimes i feel like tyldak.

wings made by magic, bound to blue mountain.
yearning for the scents and smells that the wolfriders experiance.

lost in the aincient ways, yet still free to fly with the preservers in the sky.

When I learned of Reiki, it reminded me of Leetah, of course. Actually, that's what my bf calls me sometimes, as a shortened version of a diff. nickname.

I identify with Shen-shen's sense of humour and lil sis-ness.

Nightfall really holds a special place for me. She embodies and emulates love for her tribe and friends, while also being a warrior.

I found that out this year, too. I discovered it on the elfquest fan website. Evidently, Dart is lovemates with Kimo. He was lovemates with Shushen before he was killed. Wendy has just been really subtle about it, but if you look closely....Yun makes some comments about Dart's "little playmate" referring to Kimo. I guess he's bi, since he was recognized. But heck, that was a triad and he only hung out for a dozen years or so before getting wrapped up again, so how good could it have been?
        Check out www.elfquest.com/pubs/bios.../Dart.html
that states it quite clearly.....the official site....Never would have expected it. Kudos to Wendy and Richard for not following stereotypes!
